Double stint to decide Sharks' hopes
Sheffield Sharks coach Atiba Lyons says his players have to "get it done" on their home floor if they are to reach the play-offs.
Sharks face two matches in three nights starting tonight with the visit of Scottish Rocks to the EIS. On Sunday Sheffield round off their regular season fixtures with a trip to Worcester Wolves.
Although Sharks could finish in the top six they still may need to win both weekend matches to make the play-offs with MK Lions and Cheshire Jets both still in contention.
"We've had a good week of practice, and the guys know they have to perform. We'd like to look after things on a home court, but we still might have to win in Worcester if Jets and Lions go undefeated."
Rocks have lost their last 10 matches since former Sharks player Blake Shelton suffered a season ending achilles injury.
Lyons said the loss of Shelton has been a major blow for his opposite number Sterling Davis.
"Their team was set up around Blake and Rob Yanders. There wasn't too much depth so with that change it's hard to get back in a rhythm."
Rocks coach Davis is ready for a tough game in Sheffield: "We've had some good battles against them this season. They've improved dramatically since the start of the season, but we need a performance that will send us into the play-offs on a high."
