Bridge says Sharks will be no problem

FORMER Sheffield Sharks player Andrew Bridge thinks Newcastle Eagles will have no problem in holding onto their 32 point BBL Trophy semi-final lead in tonight’s second leg in the north-east.

Bridge began his career with the Sharks but has made his name at the Eagles where he has been a key figure in their success over the past decade.

He said Eagles player-coach Fab Flournoy may give some of the younger players a chance against Sheffield, who will be without player-coach Atiba Lyons through suspension and shooting guard Nate Reinking through injury: “If we prepare properly, play solidly and do what we should do, we’ll reach the final. Whether we win the game, remains to be seen, but we need to go out on the court and play hard.

“I guess the younger players will get court time but they’ll have to earn it in practice, maybe it won’t happen in the first half, but if we’ve got the game under control in the second I imagine they’ll play.”
