Sheffield Sharks face a northern route through to the BBL Cup final if they can overcome Durham Wildcats in the quarter-finals next Friday.
Coach Atiba Lyons and his players are publicly unlikely to be look further ahead than Friday’s visit to London Lions in the league but a mouth-watering two-leg semi-final against either Newcastle Eagles or Glasgow Rocks will be their reward if they beat Durham at the EIS on November 22.
Sharks’ side of the draw remains unresolved but on the other half cup holders Leicester Riders will play Plymouth Raiders. Plymouth will host the first leg on Friday November 29, with the return leg in the East Midlands to be played on Saturday December 7.
Newcastle will travel to Glasgow for their quarter-final on the same night as Sharks host the Wildcats.
Meanwhile, Sharks shooting guard Jeremie Simmons has been rewarded for his excellent performance in the 83-64 victory against Worcester Wolves last Friday by being named in the BBL team of the week for the first time this season.
Simmons claimed 16 points, nine assists and eight rebounds.
