SHEFFIELD Sharks point-guard BJ Holmes will be assessed on Monday morning by club medical staff after being carried off at Glasgow Rocks on Sunday evening.
The Sharks were soundly beaten 85-65 north of the border but will be more concerned about Holmes, who has been in excellent for since joining the club mid-way through the season.
Holmes clashed legs with a Rocks player and was unable to take to the court for the fourth quarter. By that time Sharks trailed 68-46 after allowing the Rocks to dominate the second and third periods.
He will have an x-ray on Monday morning in Sheffield with the club hoping it is nothing more serious than a bruise.
Sharks coach Atiba Lyons told The Star: “We’re not sure yet (the extent of the injury). He’ll get the leg x-rayed in the morning. It could be a bruise or small fracture on the shin. He got kneed on the shin.”
Holmes travelled back with the team on Sunday night.
