Sheffield Sharks losing streak has stretched to five games after they went down 72-64 at Glasgow Rocks on Friday night in the BBL Championship.
It had seemed as though Atiba Lyons’ team were about to get their first win this month but a 23-7 fourth quarter by the Rocks ensured the Sharks lost ground in the play-off race.
Sheffield began well and held the Rocks scoreless over the last two minutes of the first quarter to lead 18-14.
They moved out to 31-25 on a Mike Cook free throw late in the second period before leading 33-28 at half time.
And when Nick Lewis made back-to-back threes in the third quarter the Sharks advantage was extended to 48-36.
However, Glasgow reduced the deficit to 57-49 heading into the final period and dominated after that.
Sharks still led by nine (62-53) with seven minutes to play but Rocks allowed Sheffield to score just two more points in the rest of the match as they took the lead at 65-63 on a Reggie Middleton two before making the match safe from the free throw line.
