The Sharks have set their BBL Championship Play-offs quarter-final tie with Manchester Giants for this weekend.

The two-legged clash will take place on Saturday (7pm) in Manchester with the second game at the English Institute of Sport in Attercliffe on Sunday (4pm).

Sheffield will be confident of beating the Giants and reaching the play-offs semi-finals after winning all their matches against their rivals from across the Pennines this season.

The most recent game was at the EIS on April 18 when Sharks pulled away for an 86-69 victory behind Mike Tuck’s 23 points and 10 rebounds.

Sheffield recorded a 71-57 victory in Manchester last September but needed overtime to finally overcome the Giants 91-79 when the teams met for the first time at the EIS on November 24.

Manchester finished seventh in the BBL standings after winning seven of their final 11 Championship fixtures.

Sharks, who missed out on the league title by two points behind Newcastle Eagles, are in a rich vein of form after winning 11 of their last 12 games.

The other play-off ties see Newcastle take on Durham Wildcats, Worcester Wolves play London Lions and Leicester Riders meet Cheshire Phoenix. The play-off final is at Wembley Area on May 11.
