Sharks coach Atiba Lyons is refusing to allow his players to forget their defeat at Newcastle Eagles last Friday.
Sheffield were out-played 84-57 in the north-east as they crashed out of the BBL Cup 163-139 on aggregate.
And although the Sharks bounced back with a 93-75 victory against Birmingham Knights on Sunday at the EIS, Lyons doesn’t want to forget the Eagles loss.
He said: “I think you never banish the memories when you have such a poor performance.
“If you lose and it’s a close game then great, but the way we played it leaves a sour taste in your mouth. Hopefully we can use that as motivation and draw from it.
“I know these guys are tough so hopefully we’ll be better for it.”
Sharks take on Glasgow Rocks at the EIS on Friday night (7.30pm).
