Atiba rapped for ref tweets

SHARKS player-coach Atiba Lyons has been warned by the British Basketball League about how he uses social media.

Lyons was incensed by the referees during last Friday’s BBL Trophy loss at the EIS against Newcastle and took to Twitter to voice his protests with a series of tweets.

The league has taken a dim view of the criticism and, while there has been no official sanction, Lyons says he will be more careful.

He said: “I felt people needed to know how I was feeling. I don’t think it will be something I will be doing again though.”
