After 34 glorious years working with the England national fishing teams Dick Clegg OBE has decided to retire whilst still at the top of his game.
As manager of the England men’s team he won six gold, five silver and two bronze medals. With the ladies team he added two more golds, a silver and a bronze. He then achieved two more golds with the veterans and these achievements don’t include his team members’ Individual triumphs. And don’t forget his involvement with world champions including Bob Nudd, Alan Scotthorne, Tom Pickering and Will Raison.
Laterly he’s been working as the international events manager but at the age of 78 the Barnsley legend feels it’s time to put himself and his family first whilst he’s still in good health. Dick, I am sure I speak for every angler, we salute you. Have a happy and well-earned retirement.
