Webb limbers up for season as 10K raises cash for hospice

Rotherham’s Premiership referee Howard Webb warmed up in style for the new season, in the Brinsworth 10k charity race yesterday.

Webb was guest starter, hooting off the runners with a vuvuzela, then joined in and ran the race in a creditable time of 45 minutes 42 secs.

And to complete his busy day, he presented the trophies to the winners.

Overall winner was Julian Lings in 33.01 wi5th Lindsay Gray taking the women’s title in 40.15.

It was the second running of the event which raises cash for Rotherham Hospice.
