Three Sheffield athletes are competing at the ETU (European Triathlon Union) Triathlon European Championships this weekend in Alanya, Turkey.

Steve Judge from Eckington races on Sunday in the para triathlon TRI-3 category. Steve is currently the reigning double world champion and will be aiming to win in Turkey after finishing second at the European Championships in Eilat, Israel, in 2012.

Steve’s journey to sporting success is inspirational and extraordinary having suffered a life threatening car crash in 2002. He is now part of the British Triathlon Performance Programme and is supported by a number of local sponsors including NourishMe and Sheffield International Venues.

Claire Robson originally from Barnard Castle in County Durham and now lives in Handsworth will compete in her first European triathlon for the Great Britain 25-29 age group team.

Claire is not unfamiliar to high level competition having studied in Boston, USA for two years on an athlete track scholarship and was part of the senior women’s team from Hallamshire Harriers who took gold at the national cross country championships in 2012.

Similarly, Scott Wilson from Hillsborough races in 40-44 age category for team GB, and he too has plenty of experience having recently competed at the European Duathlon Championships finishing fifth and has competed in the World Fire Fighter games.
