City of Sheffield athletics club finished sixth on Saturday in Manchester in their Premier League match.

Sheffield’s main points came from the 800m A and B, where Steve Evison came a close second in the A-race in 1 minute 49.6 seconds. While Rhian Hastey came a close second in 1:52.41.

In the 110 hurdles, yet again they scored well, with Mathew Hudson coming third in the A-string in 14.23 seconds and, Roger Skedd third in the B-race in 14.75.

Lee Doran scored a massive victory in the javelin with a throw of 75.58, he was the only winner for Sheffield in the A-category.

With four events to be scored Sheffield trailed Enfield by close to 30 points. By the time of the 4x400m and, all results counted Enfield led Sheffield by one point.

Sheffield’s relay team, of Liam Ramsay, Ryan Crawley, Luke Edwards and Luke South, managed to hold off Enfield to finish fourth gaining them sixth place in the match.

It now leaves them three points in front of Enfield, going into the final fixture in two weeks time, in London.
