Sheffield’s ultra-tough Endurer obstacle race is about to get even harder...
Organiser Pete Pollard, a former Royal Marine who now runs a gym in Hathersage, has just held the twice-yearly event for a fourth time earlier this month.
Now dates have been announced for 2014 – when the eight kilometre race will continue but will be followed by a 14 kilometre race the following day.
Pete said: “The 14k course will have new terrain, new obstacles and present a serious challenge.”
The race - which supports charity Help For Heroes - covers bogs, steep fields and moorland between Barlow and Holmesfield but will be expanded to include a neighbouring forest – linked by a murky tunnel.
Dates for Endurer’s 2014 events are 8k race on April 12 followed by 14k on April 13, 8k on September 27 and 14k on September 28. There will be camping on the Friday and Saturday evenings.
