WORLD champion heptathlete Jessica Ennis is bidding to make her comeback at the Hypo Meeting in Gotzis, Austria, at the end of May.
The 25-year-old was forced to pull out of the European Indoor Championships earlier this month because of an ankle injury.
But now Ennis says she is on the mend and plans on returning to action in Austria as she warms up to defend her world title in South Korea this summer.
“The injury is not serious and I’m looking forward to getting back into full training soon,” said Ennis, who has been bombarded with requests for tickets to watch her at the 2012 London Olympics.
“I made the decision not to go to the Europeans because of the Olympics next year,” she said. “The medical team said I could do it and could manage the pain but then it would mean a few months to get back right. So for me with the Olympics next year it just wasn’t worth the risk.”
