Katarina Johnson-Thompson, the 2014 world heptathlon number one, is just one of many reigning British champions who will look to defend their titles at the Sainsbury’s Indoor British Championships, which take place on February 14/15 at Sheffield’s English Institute of Sport.

Ahead of the European Indoor Championships in Prague, Johnson-Thompson - who broke the British high jump record, clearing 1.96m at the 2014 Championships - will contest the same event again.

She will this time come up against new outdoor British record holder Isobel Pooley and Morgan Lake, the current world junior champion.

Johnson-Thompson leads the world heptathlon rankings despite an injury last summer, and delivered strong performances in the long jump, hurdles and shot put at the Northern Championships recently in her first outing for six months.

Pooley set an indoor personal best of 1.92m in Germany last week and Lake, also a multi-events specialist, set a pentathlon personal best with 4448 points in France.

Johnson-Thompson will also compete in the 60m hurdles, an event in which she equalled her personal best of 8.40 in January.
