Barnsley AC ace misses medal

BARNSLEY AC runner Dave Thompson, who won the Yorkshire 20 title, finished fourth in the Rother Valley 10K finding unattached runners Mark Rushbrook and Richard Weeks too good for him.

Rushbrook dominated the race finishing 200 metres ahead. The wining time was 32:09 whilst Thompson had the satisfaction of beating his previous best by over half a minute with his 33:08 clocking.

Rotherham junior Steph Burns was first woman ahead of Barnsley duo Kaeti Mackenzie and Fiona Davies. Finishing 22nd overall in a field of 400, Burns ran a personal best of 38:16.
