IT’S not just in London where the sport is happening this summer.
There’s a full programme of events in Sheffield between now and the start of the Olympics. And plenty more beyond that as well.
Hundreds of athletes from around the world will be in the region preparing for the Games at training camps.
And there’s also the opportunity to watch world class sport, as well as take part in the occasional event or two yourself.
Snooker’s World Championship at the Crucible Theatre will begin proceedings this month with other highlights including city centre bike racing just a couple of days before the Olympics, the Olympic torch relay and mass participation road races in the form of the Sheffield Half Marathon, the Race for Life and the Great Yorkshire Run.
