ROB Page has been appointed as the new captain of Chesterfield.
The 33-year-old ex-Welsh international played for his country on 42 occasions and he's nearing the 500 mark for league appearances.

Chesterfield manager Lee Richardson said: "I think Rob has all the attributes to lead the team. He has great experience and has already been captain at the highest level."

Page, who was Richardson's first major signing of the summer, is a former Wales, Sheffield United, Coventry City and Watford captain.
