CHESTERFIELD goalkeeper Barry Roche has joined League Two rivals Morecambe.
The 6ft 4inch ex-Nottingham Forest man has been at Saltergate for three years and has been an unchallenged first choice for all of that time.
Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy has given the Irish man a two year deal at Christie Park - he had a year to run on his contract at Saltergate. It's believed that no fee has been involved.
Roche had enjoyed a mixed time at Chesterfield. He made some breathtaking saves in his time, his record in one-on-ones was supreme. However in recent months a few costly errors saw him berated by a minority of fans and a new challenge for him has come as no great surprise.
