RICKY Ashworth insists Tigers have what it takes to see off a powerhouse Newcastle side at Owlerton tomorrow.
The Diamonds have been in fine form of late and have a powerful top end including Dane Kenni Larsen and Australian ace Mark Lemon.

And Ashworth has also revealed his favourite track in British racing - Somerset, the venue for Friday's Premier League Pairs Championship!

He said: "We've got two big nights coming up, one for the full team against Newcastle on Thursday and then Josh (Auty) and me representing the club at Somerset on Friday.

"Gone are the days when you could look forward to a home banker against Newcastle. They've got a tremendous team this season and they will come here full of confidence I'm sure of that.

"There were times in the past where you would look at this fixture and think we would win it comfortably. We have enough all-round strength to beat them and keep our good run going but they're going to be hard work.

"And then we move to Friday and the Pairs Championship. As far as I'm concerned the more opportunities I have to race on the Oak Tree Arena track the better because it's just my favourite track in the country.

"I feel good about going there and Josh has been flying of late. If we can avoid those last places then we should make it to the latter stages, but every other club pairing will be saying the same.

"It's an important phase in the season and it would be nice to come away with two good results on Thursday and Friday. We can still be a major threat in the title race, even if we don't win it."
