SHEFFIELD will be back on track at Owlerton next Thursday - despite the long run of bad weather.
Club bosses are confident their press and practice session will go ahead with an improved weather forecast giving fresh optimism.
The 2010 Tigers team are desperate for some action ahead of the big home opener against Elite League Belle Vue on Mar
ch 18.
Riders were unhappy about a lack of practice in the build-up to last season and club owner Neil Machin said: "The track has been very wet and we haven't even been able to get on it but thankfully it's looking a lot more encouraging now.
"We are confident of getting the boys on track for some practice next week because we need as much preparation as possible. The lads will be rusty and we don't want to be using the Belle Vue match to dust off the cobwebs, we want to be in a position where we can hit the ground running.
"There have been times when it has looked like we may have to pull the plug on practice but things are looking a lot better and we should be on track at 4.30pm."
