ROTHERHAM Titans coach Craig West has confirmed the signing of long-term target fly-half Tom Barlow from Nottingham.
Barlow is the all-time leading points-scorer for Plymouth Albion having amassed 784 between 2000-2004, and has enjoyed stints at Cornish Pirates, Sale, Manchester and Newcastle as well as appearing for England age groups.
He slotted 65 conversions and 32 penalties in his 31 appearances for Plymouth.
"Tom's signing is crucial for us in that he is an experienced specialist No 10 with proven ability in National One," said West.
"He will give us a lot of options in the backs, with Mike Whitehead able to play at 10 and 15 and Errie Claassens able to play wing and full-back.
"We needed a specialist fly-half to allow us to pick the right back line for the conditions and we are delighted to have him on board."
Jonny West will provide back-up at 10 with newly-recruited centres Nick Buckley, Chris Briers and Brad Hunt competing with established players such as Tom Allen and Jon Feeley for first team places.
West hopes to confirm the capture of a prop and a second row. The Titans began pre-season training yesterday.
