SHEFFIELD FORGERS RLFC have celebrated their third anniversary with a remarkable winning streak.
The Forgers, previously known as the Sheffield Beagles, tasted success in all 11 of their Midlands Merit League games after transforming their fortunes during the close season under new coach Herb Gray.

After leaving opponents from Crewe, Shropshire and the rugby league heartland of Hull trailing in their wake, Gray’s side now face the German Exiles in the play-off semi-finals at All Saints School this weekend.

Having won just once last term, Forgers swelled their ranks with several converts from the 15 man code and figure skater John Horne.

“Although I'm not the biggest I still give as good as I get. It's not all about size!” Horne said.
