EXPERIENCED striker Darren Byfield has become Doncaster Rovers' second summer signing.
The 31-year-old forward who was Bristol City's top scorer last term during which the promoted club just missed out on a place in the Premiership, has completed a two-year deal.
The Birmingham-born one-time Rotherham United striker was also interesting several other clubs after being released by City. He netted eight goals in 33 appearances for the Aston Gate side.
A proven goalscorer in the Championship, 5ft 11in Byfield will add to the array of firepower at the Keepmoat Stadium.
"I'm delighted to have signed for Rovers," said Byfield after putting pen to paper on his deal late yesterday afternoon.

Byfield started his career at Aston Villa 11 years ago, joining Walsall in 2000 following various loan spells with different clubs.
Whilst with the Saddlers Byfield netted their winning goal against Reading in their 2001 Play-Off final.
His career then took him to Rotherham and he enjoyed a brief spell with Sunderland before linking up with Ronnie Jepson at Gillingham.
Despite being offered a new deal by the Gills, Byfield opted to move to Millwall and spent a season at the New Den before joining City last August.
Rovers' fans, meanwhile, have hit out at the £15 adult admission price for Saturday's pre-season friendly against Scunthorpe at the Keepmoat Stadium.
"A lot of people I have spoken to think that the price is a bit much," said Supporters' Club chairman Len South. "I would have thought that £5 or £10 would be more appropriate - after all, it is only Scunthorpe and they are a league below us.
"I think the price being charged could hit the attendance."
