DONCASTER Rovers fans will probably have to wait until the middle of next week at the earliest for the club's next signing according to No 2 Richard O'Kelly.
"It's pretty quiet at the moment but I think things will pick up in the first week in July," said O'Kelly.
"You are always looking at players but whether you can afford the ones you are looking at is sometimes a different matter.
"We are in a different market now we are in the Champion-ship but that doesn't mean your values change.
"Players have still got to be the right sort of people to fit in at the club; it is not just about their ability.
"That is one of the benefits of re-signing players who you want to keep. You know all about them and they know about us."
"We are hoping to sign the players we have targeted before we report back for pre-season training on Monday week.
"But that doesn't always prove to be the case as happened with Richie Wellens last season. Things can crop up at the last minute."
Wellens, who was the last of the players who were booked in for surgery during the close season, is currently recovering from a double hernia operation.
"Richie has had his staples out and is making good progress," said O'Kelly. "The surgeon is very pleased with how it went. All the other lads who have had operations are also doing well."
Sean McDaid, who dislocated his kneecap playing in a behind-closed-doors match, is also making good progress and is on the verge of being able to resume full training.
