THE Rovers returned yesterday. Just 42 days after securing their Championship promotion in the final domestic game of last season, Doncaster Rovers reassembled for the new campaign.
Rovers were the last of the South Yorkshire teams to get down to pre-season training. While Rotherham United are working out in the shadow of Doncaster's Keepmoat Stadium, Rovers' boss Sean O'Driscoll, his backroom team and squad were back in business at their training centre at Cantley Park.

O'Driscoll has a month and two days to prepare his charges for life in the Championship. First match of the season for Rovers is a trip to Derby on August 9.

Before then Rovers will play three friendlies at home, starting on Saturday July 19 with Scunthorpe.

Kevin Keegan brings Newcastle United to the Keepmoat on Saturday, July 26.

Rovers play at Port Vale on Tuesday July 29 before the last pre-season visitors to Doncaster are Bolton Wanderers on Friday August 1.
