"WE'RE on our way to Wembley!"
That was the message from Doncaster Rovers fans as the team thrashed Southend 5-1 to storm into the Division One play-off final.

Rovers will now face Yorkshire rivals Leeds United in the final in London on Sunday, May 25.

The last time the club were in the league's second tier was in 1958.

Peter Bramley, aged 72, who has been a fan for 64 years, said: "This is a huge day for us. Because I've been a fan since I was eight I saw them in the old second division.

What do you think? Post your comments below.

"It's been 50 years since they were at that level and it's great to have a chance of getting back up there again.

"Tonight's performance was the best I've seen them play all year - it's great that they can do it when it matters.

"I'm reasonably optimistic about Wembley. We can do it, but Leeds are a good side with a lot of expensive players – they're a serious proposition.

"A lot of respect has to go to our chairman John Ryan - we'd never have have been in this position without his support."

Paul Marshall, 48, of Kirk Sandall, said: "I've been following the club for 30 years, and my wife Judy has been coming for 20.

"This is one of the best days of my life.

"We brought our four children here tonight - they're Rovers fans now and they'll be Rovers till they die. We're all delighted - I think tonight was the best they've played all year.

"We're definitely going up – it's got to happen."
