CUB reporters from Rotherham schools have been working on a project to encourage primary and secondary pupils to work more closely.
A student journalism project operating across the borough has set up an initiative to help pupils from both sectors to share their ideas and learning skills.
The teams of young reporters have been hunting for news in their local communities, with the older students acting as mentors and role models to the younger pupils.
It helps the younger ones by making the transition from primary to secondary less daunting by providing them with a familiar face when they make the move up to their new school.
The journalism project seeks to improve literacy and IT skills and provide an insight into the media and creative industries.
It takes in a wide range of activities and media, including newspaper reporting, publishing a student magazine, producing podcasts and developing radio jingles.
Students from Wath-upon-Dearne Comprehensive and Wath CofE Primary have already signed up to the scheme, along with Rawmarsh Comprehensive and Rawmarsh Ashwood Primary.
