A MAN is in hospital after he apparently plunged from a bridge at a busy South Yorkshire motorway junction.
Emergency services were called to the M1 southbound near Thurcroft, Rotherham, just before junction 32 after the man was discovered lying on the hard-shoulder.
Motorists spotted him near the M18 slip road and raised the alarm at around 11.40am yes
terday.
He was taken to Rotherham District General Hospital where he remains this morning.
The M18 slip road was closed and a rolling road block was in place on the M1 before being reopened later that afternoon.
