THE Rotherham mum condemned by TV viewers for bringing up her children on a diet of takeaways and junk food, has discovered the Good Life - with a healthy new eating regime and an allotment where she rears poultry and grows fresh veg.
Natasha Whiteman found herself in the firing line after she confessed to Jamie Oliver that she'd never cooked a hot meal for daughter Kiya, six and son Robbie, two.
The 23-year-old was abused in the street and vilified by critics when the interview was broadcast - together with shocking footage of her feeding the pair kebab and chips in front of the celebrity chef.
Dozens of viewers complained about Natasha's appearance on Jamie's Channel 4 series Ministry of Food a year ago, and locals in Rotherham even accused her of blackening the town's reputation.
Now Natasha has turned over a new leaf.
Hearty homemade grub is always on the menu at home and she has a new allotment to help feed her family seven days a week.
Speaking at her quarter acre plot in Goldthorpe, Natasha said: "I think Jamie would be a bit surprised if he saw me running round the allotment collecting eggs and feeding the poultry.
"I got a lot of stick when people saw the kids sitting on the floor eating kebab and chips with their fingers. Some of the criticism wasn't very nice but going on TV brought me to my senses and turned my life around.
"I'd never cooked a meal in my life till I met Jamie. It wasn't a matter of me being lazy - I didn't know how to follow a recipe or stick a few ingredients together to make a meal and nobody had ever bothered to teach me so it was pizzas, fish and chips, Chinese takeaways and fast food.
"Looking back I realised I was letting my kids down, but it didn't hit me until Jamie walked through the door.
"I remember him saying kids in Ethopia were getting a better diet than my two - I knew I'd got to change my ways then, and there was no going back from that moment on."
Natasha has got Jamie to thank for her new found passion.
"I'd never thought of growing vegetables in the back garden. Jamie gave me lots of cuttings from his own place, and it's saved me a fortune being able to dig up fresh carrots and parsnips.
She also has eight chickens producing fresh eggs every day.
Natasha believes the experiment will benefit Kia and Robbie as well.
"One of Kia's teachers once asked her at school what foods came out of the ground, and she said quite innocently: 'A kebab.'
"Kia knows better now. She loves helping out in the garden, and she was all for letting the chickens and ducks live in the house!"
Boyfriend Paul Stanley - dad of Natasha's two children - says there's no beating her new menu.
The former café owner, 31, said: "I think Jamie would be thrilled to bits if he called in for a meal now.
"Natasha's meat balls and stir fries are just amazing, and the fresh veg from the back garden is something else altogether."
