FOOD safety officers in South Yorkshire are warning that a leading supermarket has withdrawn its own brand of apple pies because of possible plastic contamination.
Rotherham food safety officers say Tesco has withdrawn its own brand Free-From Bramley Apple Pies from sale due because they could contain pieces of hard, blue plastic in the filling.
Withdrawn are four-pie packs up to and including products date coded: BB 15/AUG/08. No other Tesco products are known to be affected.
