A DISUSED South Yorkshire quarry could be turned into a specialist diving centre.
The former Kilnhurst Qua-rry, Rotherham, could provide facilities for experienced and amateur divers and could be used by the emergency services for training.

It is owned by UK Coal, which is expected to submit a planning application to Rotherham Council to include changing facilities for divers, a viewing platform, cafe, equipment and gift shops.

An outdoor play area is also being planned for visitors.
