Rotherham residents are being given the chance to find out.
The town's Archives and Local Studies Service will use the latest computer mapping technology at Greasbrough Community library on Thursday August 28 between 10am and 12.30pm.
Visitors
will be able to use the software to compare today's buildings with Ordnance Survey maps from 1888 onwards
The event will focus on Greasbrough, Munsbrough, Wingfield and Kimberworth Park, but the mapping software covers the whole of the Rotherham borough.
