Cars set on fire in drive

TWO cars parked in the driveway of a South Yorkshire house were torched in an arson attack.
Fire crews called out to the incident on Sumner Road, Eastwood, Rotherham, yesterday morning found the Honda Civic and Honda Integra Type-R had both been deliberately set alight.

Firefighters have also had to deal with a Peugeot 106 found alight i
n a field off School Street, Thurnscoe, a Peugeot 306 set ablaze on Pleasley Road, Aughton, and a Peugeot Transit van found burning on Blackstock Road, Gleadless.

They have also dealt with a disused caravan dumped behind a vacant house on Burman Road, Wath upon Dearne, which was torched.

n A fire in a bin chute in a block of flats in Ashberry Road, Upperthorpe, is believed to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters extinguished the flames without having to evacuate residents.

Crews were also called out to deal with a pile of rubbish set alight behind garages on Spring Mount Close, Gleadless, old sofas fired on Church Street, Jump and Christ Church Way, West Melton and a wheelie bin torched on Gresley Road, Lowedges.

Firefighters have also dealt with a blaze in woodland off St Mary's Drive, Catcliffe, and a skips set alight on Drakehouse Way, Waterthorpe.
