SOUTH Yorkshire's emergency services joined forces to use pedal power to raise cash for Rotherham Hospice.
Police officers, paramedics, firefighters and council staff from Rotherham gave up their free time to complete a 22-mile bike ride around the town.

It is not yet known how much was raised for the hospice but members of the Rotherham North police safer neighbourhood team alone raised almost £500. The fundraisers set off at Rotherham's Main Street police station and took a route past Fitzwilliam Road Fire Station and through Rawmarsh, Kilnhurst, Hooton Roberts and East Herringthorpe. They agreed to complete the ride in full uniform.
