Wartime spirit will be rekindled as a 1940s-style open air dance takes place in Rotherham to help raise cash towards the building of a new war memorial for the town.
The Friends of Clifton Park are to put on the event this Saturday, June 28, at the park’s Garden House courtyard to mark Armed Forces Day.
Dearne Big Band will play at the open air event, which will run between 7.30pm and 11pm.
Money raised from the event will go towards the ongoing campaign to build a new war memorial in the town to honour those who died in World War II.
Tickets cost £6 and can be purchased from the Garden House during its usual opening hours.
