Pictures of bygone times go on display at hospital

Pictures charting Barnsley’s history have gone on display in the town’s hospital.

Eight images - spanning the 1890s to the 1970s - have been donated by the Ted Tasker Photographic Trust.

Ted, who died in 1989, served in World War Two as a radiographer, and later ran a photographic shop in Barnsley town centre. The pictures are on show near a new CT scanner bought with a bequest from Ted’s trust.

“These photographs remind passers-by of Barnsley’s heritage,” said hospital chairman Steve Wragg.
