BARNSLEY expect to sign Lewin Nyatanga for next season despite his recall to Derby's side for their last Premier League match.
Welsh international Nyatanga admitted he was surprised to start for The Rams in their 4-0 defeat by Reading but was happy to play a second Premier League game despite the result.

"It's another game for me for Derby County and another game in the Premier League," the 19-year-old said.

"It was a great experience for me, so I'll take it and move forward."

He added: "I'd played only one Premier League game all season so it was a bit of a surprise to start."

The Reds expect to complete the deal subject to personal terms being agreed.

Meanwhile, Barnsley reserve goalkeeper Kyle Letheren has signed a one-year contract.
