OLD Oakwell stagers Colin Walker and Eric Winstanley bid to upset Barnsley tonight.
Barnsley boss Simon Davey takes a first team squad this evening to York, the team run by Walker with Winstanley at his right hand.
Like Davey, Walker has his squad in place for the new season.
New to the Kitkat Crescent and the Conference club are midfielders Steven Hogg, Niall Henderson and Ben Wilkinson, utility player Mark Greaves, goalkeeper Michael Ingham, and striker Daniel McBreen.
Hogg is a victim of Gretna's financial meltdown and Henderson is a Northern Ireland under-19 international from Raith. Wilkinson - son of ex-Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday manager Howard - was released by Hull while Greaves arrived at York from Burton and Ingham is ex-Hereford.
Former Scunthorpe striker McBreen was the final piece in Walker's York jigsaw. He spurned a return to Australia to sign for the Northern Conference club.
The 31-year-old was linked with a possible move to Wellington Phoenix and Adelaide United after a spell with St Johnstone in Scotland last season and a loan stay at York.
"He's got that Australian mentality, which is a winning mentality, and a work ethos which is very, very good. I'm sure he'll bring that to the rest of the squad," Walker reckoned.
York have already held Leeds and Middlesbrough in pre-season. Walker's team produced a thrilling finish on Saturday as they held Premier League side Middlesbrough 2-2 at Kitkat Crescent.
Jonathan Franks gave Boro the lead just after half-time, but impressive goals from youngster Adam Boyes on 72 minutes and Onome Sodje on 87 put City 2-1 up.
David Wheater's 89th minute equaliser robbed City of the win.
