BARNSLEY'S Jamal Campbell-Ryce was a hero for Jamaica as they kept their World Cup qualifying dream alive.
The winger was flying for his nation in their shock 1-0 win over Sven Goran Eriksson managed Mexico in Kingston on Saturday.
Mexico still lead CONCACAF Group 2. They only need a draw in Canada in Wednesday to progress.
On the same day Jamaica take on Honduras in Kingston.
Mexico have nine points, Honduras six and Jamaica four. Canada, including Barnsley's Iain Hume, were eliminated from the group by their 3-1 loss to Honduras on Saturday in San Pedro Sula.
Campbell-Ryce missed the start of the campaign with a dislocated elbow and had been left out by coach Rene Simoes, who has since been sacked. He was a big influence on the game although the winning goal came from Ricardo Fuller.
In Honduras, Hume, who is Barnsley's top scorer had a part in Canada's equalising goal early in the second half.
It was his free kick which found Kevin McKenna's head. He hit the crossbar and the ball fell for Andrew Hainault to knock the ball in off his knee.
Hume and Campbell-Ryce are expected to be back in the UK in time for Barnsley's next Championship fixture at Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Miguel Mostto, the striker given compassionate leave to return to Peru to see his sick son, should also be available to Barnsley manager Simon Davey.
Barnsley academy under 18s defeated Leeds United 3-1 on Saturday.
