AT long last, Barnsley have got the all-clear from FIFA for Argentine midfielder Hugo Colace to play for the Reds.
After almost three months of frustration, Colace can now pull on a Barnsley shirt and he could make his first appearance for the reserves against Leeds at the Oakwell Academy on Tuesday (7pm).

Colace has been with the club since June after joining them from top Argentine side Newell's Old Boys and it was expected that clearance would come through from the Argentine FA in good time for this season.

However, there has been persistent delay and although FIFA imposed deadlines, these were not met.

However, last night, the club received provisional clearance from the football's governing body and now there is the formality of the FA getting full clearance. So without any further hitches, he is available for Barnsley's next game at Blackpool in a week's time.

"It's great for Hugo who has been on the sidelines so long and not even able to play in the reserves," said boss Simon Davey.
