SIMON Davey will pep up his Barnsley squad with kids at Cardiff on Sunday.
It's a no pressure end of season fixture at Ninian Park and 17-year-old midfielder Jacob Butterfield will be handed his full debut while Jamil Adam, aged 16, will probably start on the bench.

Said Davey: "Jacob has been on the bench in recent weeks and will have his opportunity for some more time on the pitch at Cardiff City."

Butterfield has made four appearances as sub this season, including one at Wembley for the last 10 minutes of the FA Cup semi final against Cardiff. His first involvement with Davey's team came in the League Cup at Newcastle United in September when he played the last three minutes.

Bolton born Adam is in his first year at Barnsley's academy. He was at Manchester City before signing on at Oakwell.

Davey was assessing Jamal Campbell-Ryce's fitness today. The winger has been playing despite an ankle injury and could be excused the trip to Cardiff.

Darren Purse, Cardiff's captain, can play on Sunday after the red card he received against Burnley on Saturday was over turned.

Former England striker Robbie Fowler was also expected to be in Cardiff's squad.

The 33-year-old had been out since December with a hip problem, but resumed training with his teammates this week

Cardiff boss Dave Jones said: "Robbie will start training this week and it is great for him because he has worked so hard for it. We should know by Thursday how he is and if he is ready to play at least some part against Barnsley.

"But we are taking things carefully. We will not rush him back for the sake of a cup final or whatever.

"We must look at getting a full season out of him next year. If we can do that we will have a 20-goal striker on our hands."

Barnsley's awards presentation evening was held last night with Stephen Foster named players' player of the year and Campbell-Ryce's strike at Southend in the FA Cup tie winning goal of the season.
