KIDS had the chance to burn off some energy and keep fit at a Sheffield fun day over the weekend.
The Southey Festival took place at Cookson Park with dozens of stalls, rides and entertainment.Along with the fun activities, a big part of the day was encouraging youngsters to be active.

SHINE, a project which helps children who are overweight, had a stand where youngsters could test thei

r fitness levels under the watchful eye of project leader Kath Sharman.
SHINE - Self Help Independence, Nutrition and Exercise - aims to help obese young people, not only to lose weight, but also to develop a range of skills to increase in confidence and self esteem.

Along with the SHINE fitness stand there was also the chance to ride a rodeo steer bucking bronco and wrestle in huge Sumo suits.
