Green-fingered granddad Cliff Binns has nurtured a 11ft 5in tall sunflower at his Sheffield home.
The 67-year-old is a keen gardener who has been growing sunflowers for the last few years.
But he shattered his personal best this year with the towering flower and said he was pleased with the result.
Cliff, of Store Street, off Priestley Street, Highfield, said: "I like growing them because of the novelty of their size.
"This is the biggest one I've had - it comes right up to the bedroom window sill - and I'm really pleased with it. It takes a lot of work - protecting it from the winds in a sheltered corner and making sure it has the right feeds. But it's all worthwhile when they grow this big."
And Cliff isn't the only one impressed with the sunflower - it's also proved a hit with his 18-month-old grandson Charlie.
