Finding new homes for pets

The Star has teamed up with Barnsley Animal Rescue, Labrador Welfare and Rotherham Dog Rescue in the hunt to get new owners for dogs who are just desperate to find a loving home.

Every week we bring you details of a new dog:

Sox

Sox is a sturdy brindle and white Staffy at six years of age.

She enjoys steady walks and having her belly rubbed.

Sox would suit a devoted owner who can give her lots of affection, attention and security and must be the only pet.

All of our animals are fully vaccinated, spayed or neutered, chipped, wormed and fleed inclusive of the adoption fee. They also get four weeks pet insurance.

If you are interested in Sox or would like to see any of the cats, dogs, rabbits or guinea pigs visit www.barnsleyanimalrescue.com.

Or you can call Sarah and Donna on 07534 982314 or email donnaoxley@blueyonder.co.uk

You can also visit us Wath Kennels, Station Rd, Wath-on-Dearne. We are almost directly opposite Wath garden centre and adjacent to the lakes between Wath and Bolton Upon Dearne.

Jazz

Jazz is a large, good looking boxer dog between 4 and 5 years of age.

She is happy and energetic with a fabulous temperament and will make a wonderful pet for her new owners! She gets on well with dogs and people alike.

Jazz loves walking, playing and cuddles.

She will fit in well with active owners who will spoil her rotten with lots of love, play and TLC. She is fully vaccinated and chipped.

If you are interested in Jazz or would like to see any of our cats, dogs, rabbits or guinea pigs please visit
www.barnsleyanimalrescue.com.

Or you can call Sarah and Donna on 07534 982314 or email donnaoxley@blueyonder.co.uk

Smokey

Smokey had not had a good life before arriving at Barnsley Animal Rescue Centre.

He has spent most of his five years tethered to a short chain.

However, after some time at BARC he walks well on a lead and has a playful, friendly nature.

As you can see his face is full of character and is absolutely beautiful.

He now needs special someone to continue to restore his faith in people, show him how to enjoy life and prove to him that he can be loved and cared for with respect and true devotion!

He is vaccinated and chipped.

If you are interested in Smokey or would like to see any of our cats, dogs, rabbits or guinea pigs please visit www.barnsleyanimalrescue.com.

Ellie

Labrador Welfare are looking for a permanent loving home for Ellie who has been with the charity for over 14 months.

Ellie is a beautiful 6 year old Labrador with a lot to offer but she is very timid and cautious of anything new.

She is fine with dogs she meets on a regular basis but chases cats so she needs a home where there are no other pets.

Ellie is good with children but would not cope with a home where different children visit on a regular basis.

Ellie is in kennels in Sheffield.

Contact June on 0114 2661756 or email labwelfare@tiscali.co.uk

Lucky and Misty

Lucky is a gorgeous four year old Dalmatian cross.

He is very dependant on his mother Misty and feels a little lost when she isn't by his side.

Misty is a five year old cross.

She has a wonderful temperament and just loves to play ball!

It would be preferable to find owners who would take both Misty and Lucky into their homes.

They are both vaccinated and chipped.

If you are interested in Lucky and Misty or would like to see any of the cats, dogs, rabbits or guinea pigs please visit www.barnsleyanimalrescue.com.

Or you can call Jeanette on 07786 292104 or email dogs@barnsleyanimalrescue.org.uk.

You can also visit them at Wath Kennels, Station Rd, Wath-on-Dearne. It is almost directly opposite Wath garden centre and adjacent to the lakes between Wath and Bolton Upon Dearne.

Henry - Labrador cross

Henry is a three-year-old Labrador cross.

He has been in the kennels for 18 months now and sadly just never gets picked.

He does get on with some dogs but unfortunately not all.

He is lovely with people but strong on the lead and would therefore need experienced owners.

He can be quite boisterous therefore would be most suited to a home without young children because he is so affectionate and may knock them over.

He has been neutered and fully vaccinated, and will be micro chipped upon adoption. All he just needs a loving home.

If you are interested in Henry please you can call Jeanette on 07786 292104 or email
dogs@barnsleyanimalrescue.org.uk

If would you like to see any of the cats, dogs, rabbits or guinea pigs visit www.barnsleyanimalrescue.com
