WADE Small is back in the Sheffield Wednesday first team fold but the club are keeping star striker Francis Jeffers's recovery rate under wraps.
Small, aged 24, has not played since mid-Apri because of a hamstring injury but he trained with the senior professionals this week with a view to playing for the reserves.

Manager Brian Laws declined to name a possible comeback date for former Eve
rton centre forward Jeffers, whose career at Hillsborough has been blighted by injury: "I'm tired of answering the same question. He's progressing well after a slight groin problem. His work-rate is improving but we're not going to add to the pressure by naming a date for his return just in case it doesn't happen."

Laws expects to have Jermaine Johnson available for Saturday's match at Swansea. He came off against Preston with just under 20 minutes of time left, suffering a sore knee.

Laws dismissed out of hand speculation which links Sunderland striker Anthony Stokes with a loan move to Hillsborough.

Meanwhile would-be Owls buyer Geoff Sheard has said the money to complete a take-over has been moved from a Swiss bank account to a London branch of the HSBC bank.

Wednesday's debts of more than £20 million are with the Co-op Bank and Sheard said he has a meeting planned with their officials in the next few days.

Sheard's financial backers have so far remained anonymous but according to him they have spoken to Wednesday's finance director Bob Grierson and chief executive Kaven Walker.

The Wednesday Enigma--

League 2 board, finances and training methods,

League 1 Team, reserves bench and ground facilities

Championship manager

Premiership supporters

What happened to the man from Mars with all the money to make it Premiership all round? We're still waiting

Good result at the weekend given the lack of all round fitness

Nice to see a bit of positive news on the injury front, all in all not a bad start to the season with some patches of decent stuff (mainly first halfs).

One or two "takeover is a sham" stories flying about on the message boards, like everyone I would just like the issue sorted asap one way or the other, still a believer until firm evidence says otherwise.

anyway jj and esajas been playing well recently good to have wade back to keep em on their toes. Laws is probably emphasing the need to start well in games looking at how many times we went behind early last year.

What he's done for the club so far parson is lead to a change in wednesdayites rules to sell, which even if it does fall through simplifies any future interest and indicates to anyone a willingness to sell, insightful as always

Without the takeover Wednesday are probably doomed to administration, it is the only hope of a prosperous future. The only thing that can scupper the deal is the morons starting to throw abuse at Shead, he's obviously put a lot of work in to get this far so lets sit tight and hopefully it'll happen soon. BL is doing a fantastic job at the moment and hopefully he'll be given the full backing of any new regime at S6, he deserves it and is one of the best managers around!

Parson X Owl shut up you muppet it's people like you who hold this club back and your views are far from the majority i assure you. Mr Sheard could be the best thing to ever happen to Wednesday even if all he does is get rid of the debt and bring the majority of shares back under one owner.
