WEDNESDAY have appointed Steve Watson as club captain to succeed Lee Bullen.
But Richard Wood will keep the role as team captain which he held last season when Bullen was not in the side.

Manager Brian Laws told The Star why he has decided to have two skippers: "Although Richard is team captain I want him to concentrate on what happens on the pitch and not be distracted by the off-field responsiblities that being club captain brings; Steve's experience is ideal for this; he can see to things like PR and also help Richard along.

"We have seen what a great ambassador Lee Bullen was. I am sure that Richard can fill the same sort of role in the future but I don't want to overload him at this stage, and Steve will not only do a good job as club captain but obviously will be skipper if Richard is not available for a game."
