ETIENNE Esajas sees the Owls' action in his Dutch homeland as a chance to kick-start his Wednesday career.
The winger is determined to make his mark next season after having only six starts last season following a move from Vitesse Arnhem.
Manager Brian Laws has already admitted that Esajas has reported back for pre-season "looking a different player", and matches tonight against Haarlem and on Thursday against Telstar could offer the 23-year-old an opportunity to reinforce the message.
"I'm really looking forward to the games," said Esajas, who comes from Amsterdam.
"My whole family are coming to watch me - normally they go over to England about once a month.
"Last season was all right for me, not great. I started well, then had an injury; after that, Ididn't play a lot.
"I'm building up my fitness and looking forward to playing more games.
"I think I can play in this team. I always start well - I need to keep it going."
Esajas will not be the only one trying to impress Laws: all the available players are likely to be used during the tour matches to get everybody back in the swing of matchplay.
The winger believes that the Dutch teams will use their country's familiar style of possession football.
"I don't think they will beat us; we are a good side," he said.
"We have looked good in training and we are getting stronger and stronger.
"These first two games will be really good for us."
Wednesday are working on artificial pitches at their training base in Heiloo, where the Holland national squad work before international tournaments.
Laws said that the team's hotel and training facilities are excellent.
"We'll be having a steady build-up in our pre-season programme, treating each game slightly differently from the previous one," said Laws.
"Everything has gone well and we are looking forward to the games."
New signings Jimmy Smith and James O'Connor are in line for debuts on the tour.
