The heartbroken niece of a Sheffield man who was brutally killed in a ‘sustained attack’ on New Year’s Eve, has said his murder has torn the family apart.
Sana Hussain, aged 27, made an emotional appeal to the residents of Darnall to come forward with any information they may have.
Her uncle, Zabair Hussain, 41, was found dead on Staniforth Road in Darnall on New Year’s Eve around 11.20pm with serious injuries to his head and body.
Paramedics attempted to resuscitate him but he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Ms Hussain read out a statement to the media supported by family friend, Zaffar Mizra.
She said: “He was a much loved, kind and loving brother and uncle and cousin and had many life long friends. He had a big heart.
His death has torn us all apart and left our hearts broken. Our lives will never be the same again.
“We cannot understand why anyone would like to take his life in such a brutal and cowardly way. His lifeless body was left in the middle of a busy road.
“Zabair lost his way in life but nobody should have had to endure the way that his life was taken.
“We urge the community of Darnall to come forward with information to the police and identify those responsible for this brutal and sustained attack.
“We have faith in God that we will find the people who are responsible for this.”
Anyone with any information us being urged to call police on 101, quoting incident number 1023 of December 31, 2015, email email@example.com or call Crime anonymously on 0800 555111.
