An author from Sheffield is celebrating after her eBook, a psychological thriller, topped Amazon’s best seller list.
Sarah A. Denzil, aged 33, released her latest novel Silent Child in January this year - and it has already claimed the top spot on the online giant’s international eBook best seller list.
Sarah said that she was overwhelmed with the success of the book - which is the third she has released on Amazon - and thanked her readers for their support.
“The success of Silent Child has been wonderfully overwhelming and I’m so thankful to the readers.
“They are the ones who have given my books a chance, and they are the ones who have shown their support, whether it’s with a review, an email, or a tweet.”
Silent Child tells the story of Emma Price, a mum who is reunited with her son ten years after she believed he drowned when he was a young boy.
With over a thousand five star reviews on Amazon, the book is a triumph for the former university administrator who is now a full time Kindle Direct Publishing author.
Sarah added:“Word of mouth recommendations are the main reason for Silent Child being so successful and it has been incredible to watch.
“Independent publishing gives the power to the reader and allows the story to speak for itself.”
Sarah is best known as a suspense writer, but under her alias, Sarah Dalton, she also writes speculative fiction for teenagers, including The Blemished, Mary Hades and White Hart.
She has been an avid reader for most of her life and takes inspiration from the stories she read as a child and an adult.
On her website, she said: “I’m pretty geeky. I love books, I love films and I love TV. I started writing pretty young, but I never finished anything until I was in my early twenties. I’m pretty sure my first ever story was about a pair of magic trainers. I think I was about three.”
